Hello Flyer Families! We are into the 25-26 school year, and everything seems to be pretty smooth (knock on wood)! Our FLYERS are awesome, and we love helping them be successful! We know how important our parents and guardians are when it comes to student success.  We can’t achieve all we would like to without the support of our parents and guardians.  We need your help with encouraging the students to keep trying and keep working!  When the work gets harder, they have to keep pushing.  Academic success is a top priority at Farristown, and we want every student to be ready for the next grade level by the end of the year. That will always be our #1 goal! Attendance is very important, as you already know. We need the students to
be here so that they get the best instruction possible.  Once students get to middle school, it is sometimes difficult to get make-up work completed if they are absent often. If students need to miss, please remember to get excuses turned in quickly.  We have some new state guidelines about attendance, so we will need to make sure absences are excused. Please help us stay on top of that.

Farristown is a Renaissance School. On the school website, under DISCOVER FTMS, you will see a Renaissance tab.  There, you can see the outline of our Renaissance Program and our theme for this school year:  On the Road to Greatness! We want this team to reflect our belief that every single student can reach their goals.  Requirements for Renaissance include guidelines for attendance, academics, and behavior. Our goal is for every student to be part of Renaissance!

The FTMS students are wonderful to work with, and the staff here at Farristown is second to none.  I have 100% confidence in their ability to help students achieve at high levels.  It will sometimes seem like there is quite a
bit of homework.  You may think we are asking them to read a great deal. You may even have to help with homework sometimes. No matter what, you should know that we are doing what we think is best for your students. I want every single student to feel like they are able to go out and follow their
dreams. That starts with a good education!

I am so excited for a great year. I love working with these middle schoolers, and I want each one to have an awesome year. Before you know it, we will be approaching our Holiday Break! Until then, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call the school.
